For any golfers – one of the cities most beautiful courses “Prestonfield” is just around the corner and happy to welcome any visitors – just have a look at their website to see this classic course.

We’re also very close to Edinburgh University’s Pollock Halls – so if you are keen to visit a friend or family member – we’re close enough for you to pop in without imposing.

We would tell you about Edinburgh’s Royal Commonwealth Swimming Pool too – but it won’t be available again until Summer 2011 due to refurbishment!

In early June – Ingliston is going to become one of the most beautiful parts of the city as it transforms itself for the Gardening Scotland exhibition.  There are a number of exciting exhibitions such as a selection of Bonsai trees (some over 200 years old) as well as the team from the BBC Beachgrove Garden who will be running talks and workshops!

If you don’t want to drive – there are plenty of buses available form the city centre – if you’re taking the car there will be lots of parking.  You can book early for cheaper tickets – and children under 16 are free – so if you’re coming up as a family you don’t have to pay for pleasure of dragging them around!

This coming weekend (29th and 30th of May) Inverleith Park (a stroll from the Botanics) welcomes the annual “Taste Of Edinburgh” festival.  This event features numerous city centre restaurants, chefs and the best food and drink from across the country.  Given the fantastic weather we are currently having – a trip down the hill to the Botanics and Taste Festival is definitely worth doing this weekend.  You can buy tickets for the festival online – if you’re conscious of cost – the Botanics is free!

For those of you from out of town – bring your cameras – this will be a day of photo opportunities as you get a taste of Scottish culture.
